Tenured Professors No-Confidence Letter

On Monday, November 12, 2007, a quorum of the Tenured Faculty of Oral Roberts University met and passed the following three motions, which aee to be distributed to all members of the Oral Roberts University Board of Regents as soon as possible and are to be released to the University Faculty Assembly at its next regularly scheduled meeting, which is Monday, November 19, 2007.

(1) The Tenured Faculty of Oral Roberts University—without regard to the outcome of the current lawsuit against the university—approved a motion of “no confidence” in Richard Roberts in his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of the university. This vote of “no confidence” is not to be construed as a judgment of guilt or innocence with regard to the present lawsuit against the president and the university.

(2) The Tenured Faculty of Oral Roberts University approved a motion of “confidence” in Mark Lewandowski, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost of Oral Roberts University with regard to his call for greater faculty governance and transparency of university finances.

(3) The Tenured Faculty of Oral Roberts University approved a motion that the Tenured Faculty of Oral Roberts University be involved in the process of determining the selection criteria for and the actual selection of university leadership.
